NIGERIA VS NORTH KOREA @ Moncton
NIGERIA VS NORTH KOREA: FIFA 2014 U20 Women worldcup semiFinals 9pm Nigeria time
Moncton hosts its eighth and final
FIFA Under-20 Women's World
Cup match Wednesday.
A semi-final game between
Nigeria and North Korea is slated
to begin at 5 p.m. at the Moncton
Stadium.
Younes Bouida with Soccer New
Brunswick has attended all seven
games so far.
He says the experience has been
incredible and expects Nigeria and
Korea to deliver an "epic" final
game.
"It's very exciting. The setup is so professional. It's no
different than Brazil 2014, plus we have two teams that play
offence aggressive-style, so it's going to be very entertaining,"
said Bouida.
Stéphane Delisle, the venue
general manager, said although
the stadium hasn't been packed to
capacity for the games, the event
has still been a great success.
"We've seen the fans in Moncton
surpass our expectations in
creating an atmosphere of drums
and singing," said Delisle.
The average attendance for the
local games has been about 3,500
people. The stadium seats 8,500.
"We'd definitely like to see more
people in the stands," said Delisle.
Moncton is the smallest among
four cities hosting FIFA games for
2014-15, the others being Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton.
The other semi-final match will see Germany take on France
Wednesday evening in Montreal at Olympic Stadium.
The third-place and final games are slated for Sunday,
also at Olympic Stadium.
Moncton will host seven games during the FIFA Women's
World Cup Canada in June 2015.
