NFF President Arrested Again!

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Assembly was marred with controversy as officials of the State Security Service stormed the Chida Hotel Venue of the congress to pick up president Aminu Maigari, Secretary Musa Amadu and Technical Committee chairman Chris Green.
There were wide report Monday night that Maigari had resigned his position as president of the NFF.
Maigari however stormed the venue of Tuesday’s general assembly, only to be arrested and whisked away for questioning.
To make the situation messier, state FA chairmen and secretaries refused to continue the congress, insisting that Maigari must preside over the meeting, and daring men of the security forces to shoot any of them.
Report reaching News24 Nigeria alleged that sports minister Tammy Danagogo was behind Maigari’s latest arrest, as he did not want the administrator to re-contest in the forthcoming NFF election.
Among major agendas to be discussed at the general assembly is to fix a date for the next election into executive offices of the NFF, in the next two weeks.
It would be recalled that Maigari was arrested on return from Brazil after Nigeria’s Round of 16 ouster from the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
